New Fortress Energy has highlighted the terminal’s positive environmental impact, projecting a reduction of approximately 700,000 metric tons in annual CO₂ emissions from the Alunorte refinery.
The “Bacarena” terminal will play a crucial role in supplying natural gas supply for the 630 MW power plant for the 630 MW power plant NFE is building nearby, which is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2025, further strengthening the region’s energy infrastructure.
On the other hand, the company is not stopping here and already has ambitious plans to expand its presence in the energy sector. The company plans to use existing infrastructure to increase the capacity of its power complex by 1.6 GW under a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a new project
