Kubota North America has been recognized with the prestigious CES Innovation Award® 2025 for its revolutionary product, the KATR . This compact, multi-purpose, all-terrain robot is the first solution of its kind, designed to work in high-demand environments, such as agriculture and construction . Its ability to operate on uneven terrain distinguishes it as a breakthrough in robotics applied to traditional industries.
KATR: an all-terrain robot with hydraulic legs
KATR, named for “Kubota All-Terrain Robot,” is an autonomous vehicle that employs an advanced stability control system. Equipped with adjustable hydraulic legs, the robot maintains a level loading platform even on sloped or uneven surfaces. This allows the KATR to work efficiently on difficult terrain, such as that found in many agricultural fields or on construction sites.
Thanks to its four internal and external wheels, the robot adapts optimally to any type of terrain , guaranteeing stable performance at all times.
Versatile design to maximize productivity
The KATR has been designed to be powered by either a diesel engine or an electric motor , offering users flexibility depending on their operational needs. With a load capacity of up to 284 lbs (129 Kg) and a remote control system, the robot adapts to different applications, providing increased productivity in the aforementioned sectors. In addition, its compact size and robustness allow it to be integrated into tight spaces, maintaining high performance even in extreme conditions.
Brett McMickell, Director of Technology for Kubota North America, commented:
Our goal is to improve quality of life through innovation. KATR not only improves productivity in agriculture and construction, but also promotes sustainability through advanced technological solutions.
Innovation Award at CES 2025
This advancement in robotics technology has been recognized in the Industrial Equipment and Machinery category during the CES Innovation Awards 2025 , a prestigious program organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The KATR was evaluated by a panel of experts in innovation, engineering and functionality, who highlighted its exceptional design and its capabilities to face challenges in difficult terrain.
The CES 2025 award highlights Kubota’s innovation and commitment to developing technologies that improve efficiency and sustainability across a variety of industries. CES 2025 will take place January 7-10 in Las Vegas, where Kubota will present more details about the KATR and its impact on industrial sectors.
