The company Yinson Production officially held the naming ceremony for the FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang. The vessel will be deployed to Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam, fulfilling the stipulated technical planning phases. This event represents the consolidation of engineering efforts by the design teams, commercial partners, and international contractors involved in the extraction project.
The FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang Field and Deployment
Regarding the unit’s specifications, the storage and offloading vessel features a modern, newly built double-hull design. Additionally, its net storage capacity safely reaches approximately 500,000 barrels of crude oil. Furthermore, the structure integrates advanced dual-fuel systems designed to optimize operational efficiency, directly reducing global environmental impact through carbon emission reduction.
Moreover, the operational management of the asset will be supported by long-term bilateral cooperation in the region. Yinson Production maintains a close commercial relationship with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation through joint ventures. Both firms have successfully managed other offshore assets in the territory for over a decade, including the FSO PTSC Bien Dong 01 and the FPSO PTSC Lam Son.
In reference to the established timelines, the vessel previously completed its launch at the Nantong StrongWind shipyard located in China. Currently, technical specialists are executing the final outfitting phases, safety tests, and commissioning before the definitive maritime transfer to its anchoring point. Project supervision is under the global standards of Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil, a direct subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation.
Likewise, the commercial agreement includes an initial execution period of 10 years with extension options for up to five additional years. The commencement of commercial activity for the FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. The introduction of this unit will strengthen local logistical capacity and provide technical stability in the face of Vietnam’s growing energy industry demands.
