The new commercial LNG supply agreements

The French corporation TotalEnergies will receive a volume of approximately 0.85 million tonnes per annum of liquefied gas over a five-year period formally beginning in 2026. On the other hand, the trading firm Vitol expanded its existing contract, increasing its purchases to 1.7 million tonnes per annum, representing an upward adjustment to the terms previously agreed upon in March of this year.

The commercial strategy employed seeks to offer medium-term financial certainty through a highly flexible offering. The CEO of the North American firm stated that global demand requires predictability and speed of supply on a large scale. Furthermore, the organization’s integrated infrastructure allows the resource to be dispatched directly from its complexes in Louisiana, guaranteeing a constant flow to foreign buyers.

The North American export company’s operations portfolio exceeds a projected capacity of 100 million tonnes per annum between operational plants and ongoing developments. Additionally, its business model spans from production to maritime transport and resource regasification.

For its part, the European firm Vitol consolidates its decades-long presence in global commodity markets after moving millions of tonnes of oil equivalent in previous periods. TotalEnergies contributes its global logistical strength, operating in more than a hundred countries with a diversified focus on multiple clean energy sources.
