Ventura Offshore expanded its presence in the international offshore drilling market after reaching two new agreements related to deepwater operations. The company will manage Eldorado Drilling’s Deep Value Driller drillship and participate in a PETRONAS campaign off Indonesia.
On the one hand, the agreement with Eldorado Drilling includes marketing and operations management services for the Deep Value Driller, a seventh-generation unit prepared for ultra-deepwater work.
On the other hand, Ventura Offshore signed a contract with PETRONAS E&P Bobara Sdn. Bhd. to execute a one-well drilling program in Indonesian waters. The estimated value is approximately $58 million and includes provisional items for additional services.
PETRONAS contract boosts Ventura Offshore in Indonesia
Specifically, the agreement expands Ventura Offshore’s activity in Southeast Asia, a region where the company already maintains drilling operations.
PETRONAS E&P Bobara operates the Bobara production sharing contract off West Papua. PETRONAS holds a 51% stake in the project alongside Pertamina and TotalEnergies.
Ventura will receive operating commissions derived from the new contract. For the company, the award also allows it to leverage its commercial and operational management platform to increase its activity outside Brazil.
We are proud to have signed this contract to support PETRONAS in this important offshore drilling campaign.
Stated Guilherme Coelho, CEO of Ventura Offshore.
The executive noted that the agreement reflects the confidence placed in the company’s operational capabilities and its commitment to providing safe, efficient, and reliable drilling services.
Deep Value Driller joins managed fleet
Likewise, the agreement with Eldorado Drilling incorporates a specialized ultra-deepwater drilling asset into Ventura Offshore’s managed portfolio.
The Deep Value Driller is a seventh-generation drillship. Ventura will assume marketing and operations management services for the unit, thus expanding a relationship with Eldorado that already includes the Atlantic Zonda.
This addition strengthens Ventura’s capacity to manage third-party drilling assets in addition to operating its own offshore units.
The company currently owns and operates the DS Carolina drillship and the SSV Victoria and SSV Catarina semi-submersible platforms. The Atlantic Zonda is also under management.
Ventura Offshore strengthens presence in southeast asia
Furthermore, the contract with PETRONAS increases Ventura Offshore’s exposure to the Indonesian offshore drilling market. The company already has activity in the country through the SSV Catarina, while other assets in its fleet operate off Brazil.
Ventura Offshore has been providing offshore drilling services for the oil and gas industry since 1998. Its strategy combines direct platform operation with commercial and management services for third-party assets.
The incorporation of the Deep Value Driller and the campaign for PETRONAS extend this model to international deepwater and ultra-deepwater operations.
Coelho also thanked Eldorado Drilling for maintaining its collaboration with Ventura and noted that the company will work with the involved parties to support project execution and strengthen its position in Southeast Asia.
