Aker Solutions obtained a new framework agreement with bp to provide engineering and integrity services on its North Sea assets, thus expanding the work that the company was already carrying out in facilities located west of the Shetland Islands.
The award now includes bp’s assets located in the North Sea center this extends both the geographical reach and the technical involvement of Aker Solutions within the British energy company’s portfolio.
The contract will have an initial duration of three years and includes two possible extensions of one year each, if both options are exercised, the agreement could remain in force for a total of five years.
Aker Solutions will assume engineering and integrity management
The scope of the contract includes engineering services, integrity management, project support, and operational assistance for bp assets covered by the agreement.
With this expansion, Aker Solutions it will assume a broader role in activities related to the operation and maintenance of the integrity of offshore energy facilities. Furthermore, the company will extend its presence from the western Shetland Islands to assets located in the central North Sea.

Integrity management will play a key role in the contract, enabling the monitoring of asset conditions throughout their operation. Along with engineering and project support services, this work aims to address various needs across the facility’s lifecycle.
Aberdeen will manage the contract with bp
The division Life Cycle de Aker Solutions she will be in charge of managing the contract from the facilities that the company maintains in Aberdeen, Scotland.
According to the company, the agreement will support around 50 jobs, linking its implementation with the technical capacity installed in one of the main centers of energy activity in the United Kingdom.
The award will also allow Aker Solutions to expand its involvement within bp portfolio of assets in British waters, with services ranging from engineering and integrity management to direct support for projects and operations.

The new contract builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, Aker Solutions had been providing services to bp assets located west of the Shetland Islands and, with this agreement, will also incorporate facilities of Central North Sea.
The geographical expansion thus becomes one of the main elements of the award, for Aker Solutions, it means working on a more extensive portfolio within a market in which it seeks to continue developing its Life Cycle business.
