Shape Digital, a MODEC subsidiary, and Halliburton announced a strategic collaboration to strengthen digital asset performance management in energy operations. The alliance combines subsurface models, surface data, and applied artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.
An Integrated View of Digital Assets
Under this agreement, Halliburton will provide Landmark’s Digital Field Solver (DFS) decision system, while Shape Digital will integrate its applied AI portfolio, comprising Lighthouse, Aura, and Reef. This combination will enable the connection of information from reservoirs, wells, production networks, and surface operations within a single operational view.
Likewise, this integration aims for technical teams to more accurately assess how reservoir behavior, well performance, facility constraints, and equipment condition interact. With this joint understanding, companies will be able to anticipate restrictions, adjust production plans, and respond better to operational changes.
Applied AI for Production, Efficiency, and Safety
Additionally, the collaboration will focus on three essential areas: integrated production planning, alignment between energy efficiency and production objectives, and asset integrity. The analysis of historical and real-time data will enable the detection of deviations, estimation of impacts on flow, and improvement of critical equipment reliability.
In offshore operations, where production systems are increasingly complex, this capability is particularly relevant for FPSO assets and other capital-intensive facilities. MODEC has developed expertise in the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation, leasing, operation, and maintenance of FPSOs, which reinforces the practical approach of the alliance.
Shape Digital Scales MODEC’s Operational Expertise
For its part, Shape Digital serves as MODEC’s platform to bring its operational knowledge to the energy industry. Its solutions include predictive maintenance, AI-powered digital twins for GHG reduction, and digital barrier management.
Thus, the collaboration with Halliburton seeks to transform operational data into actionable information, with a direct impact on safety, reliability, digital assets, and competitiveness. For operators, the value will lie in making more consistent decisions when managing reservoirs, wells, networks, equipment, and safety systems as a connected asset.
