Phillips 66 announced the completion of its acquisition of the assets and associated infrastructure of Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery Limited, a transaction previously agreed upon in January. The company plans to integrate these facilities into its Humber refinery, located in North Lincolnshire.

Details of the Lindsey Refinery Acquisition

The acquisition of the Lindsey refinery aligns with the objective of strengthening the UK’s critical energy infrastructure. The integration of these assets will enhance Phillips 66’s operational and logistical capabilities in the downstream segment.

In this way, the company seeks to leverage the acquired storage capacity and logistical resources to optimize its refining operations . This integration will improve the efficiency of fuel distribution in the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the transaction strengthens Phillips 66’s role within the British energy system. According to the company, this acquisition will help ensure a more stable fuel supply amidst pressure on domestic production.

Likewise, the acquired infrastructure is considered key to increasing the resilience of the energy system, especially in an environment of transition and volatility in hydrocarbon markets.

On the other hand, Phillips 66 highlighted that this transaction opens new opportunities in both conventional fuels and more sustainable energy sources. The Humber refinery is already involved in the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and materials related to electrification, such as graphite coke for batteries.

Consequently, the company is consolidating a strategy that combines the optimization of existing assets with the incorporation of new industrial capabilities.
