Perenco Vietnam firma un acuerdo de gas para Su Tu Trang Fase 2B

Perenco Vietnam announced the signing of the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) for the Su Tu Trang Phase 2B development in Block 15-1, offshore Vietnam, a step that will allow progress on one of the country’s most important gas projects for the coming years.

The agreement supports the commercialization of more than 600 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas over the project’s lifespan and reinforces Vietnam’s efforts to ensure the energy supply necessary to sustain its economic and industrial growth.

A strategic project for the Vietnamese energy supply

The Su Tu Trang Phase 2B development is designed to reach a production of up to 150 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd). This capacity will contribute significantly to meeting the growing energy demand in southeast Vietnam, one of the country’s most industrially active regions.

Furthermore, the project includes the modernization of existing facilities along with the addition of new offshore infrastructure. Key works include the installation of a new Central Gas Facility (CGF) platform, designed to optimize the processing and transport of gas production.

New wells and expansion of offshore infrastructure

As part of the development plan, the drilling of up to 15 gas wells is planned to maximize the utilization of available resources in Block 15-1.

Likewise, improvements to existing infrastructure aim to accelerate the integration of new production into the national energy system, strengthening supply reliability and expanding the field’s operational capacity.

According to the established schedule, first gas is expected by June 2026, while plateau production at full capacity is planned for June 2028.

Perenco reinforces its presence in Vietnam

Perenco has operated in Vietnam since 2012 and maintains a prominent stake in various energy assets, including the Nam Con Son pipeline. The company continues to expand its presence in the offshore sector through projects focused on oil and natural gas production.

In addition to its operational activities, the company participates in social programs focused on education, entrepreneurship, and healthcare for local communities. These initiatives are part of the sustainability strategy it develops in the countries where it operates.

With the signing of this new commercial agreement, Perenco advances in the execution of the Su Tu Trang Phase 2B project and strengthens its role within Vietnam’s energy development, a market seeking to increase natural gas availability to support its economic growth and energy security.
