Solstad Maritime ASA confirmed a one-year extension for the CSV Normand Vision vessel with Ocean Installer AS, ensuring the vessel’s continued operation until the end of 2028. The agreement takes effect as a direct continuation of the existing contract between the two companies.
Furthermore, the extension includes two additional annual options for 2029 and 2030, along with a mechanism that would allow the contract to be extended until 2031. With this, Solstad maintains a stable line of work for one of its most important construction support vessels within the offshore segment.
A CSV prepared for demanding subsea operations
The Normand Vision is a construction support vessel designed for complex underwater work. The vessel is geared towards the installation of subsea structures, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines, known in the industry as SURF operations.
The vessel also boasts essential technical capabilities for demanding offshore projects, including ROV systems, high-capacity cranes, and a spacious work deck. These features make it a versatile unit for marine construction campaigns, underwater intervention, and deep-water operational support.
Continuity for Solstad and Ocean Installer
With this extension, Solstad Maritime strengthens its business relationship with Ocean Installer, a company specializing in marine construction and offshore operations. The continuation of the contract ensures continued operational availability in a market where demand for CSV vessels remains linked to the development of subsea infrastructure and offshore energy projects.
Ocean Installer, for its part, secures extended access to a multipurpose unit built to perform subsea tasks under demanding conditions. The option to extend the agreement until 2031 adds contractual flexibility and operational visibility for both parties.
The Normand Vision will remain active in the offshore market
The extension confirms that the Normand Vision will continue operating under contract for the next few years. The current agreement covers operations until the end of 2028, while subsequent options could keep the vessel in service until 2031.
In a context of increased offshore activity, the availability of specialized vessels such as the Normand Vision is strategic for underwater installation projects, energy infrastructure support, and marine construction operations.
