The company LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners has successfully activated its operational capacity at Select Water Solutions facilities, achieving a breakthrough in lithium carbonate production from oilfield brines in the United States.

Indeed, execution at the Howard County site has been notable for its speed. After completing construction of the refining unit ahead of schedule in March 2026, the company is processing material to fulfill its first commercial purchase order.
The initial sale of one ton of product, scheduled for delivery in June, serves as technical and commercial validation of its direct extraction technology. Likewise, the transaction occurs while negotiations are ongoing for long-term supply contracts with U.S. industrial consumers.
On the other hand, LibertyStream’s strategy is based on a low-risk model that seeks to be replicated in other high-volume regions such as the Bakken basin. The use of proprietary DLE technology allows management to optimize capital by integrating directly into water and gas handling systems. In this regard, the company’s goal is to reach an annualized production scale of 1,000 tons by the end of this year, consolidating its presence in the Texas sector.
The collaboration with Select Water Solutions is not limited to current operations, but functions as a validation platform for future deployments. The data collected in this initial phase is essential for customer qualification and operational process adjustment. The company maintains a firm focus on transparency and efficiency, demonstrating that the energy transition in the United States can be nourished by the technical expertise accumulated in the hydrocarbon industry.
