Larvotto Resources will intensify exploration activities at the Curry’s Block prospect after identifying a tungsten, gold and antimony mineralized system extending over one kilometer within the Hillgrove project in New South Wales, Australia.
The company reported that a historical review of drill holes confirmed the presence of high-grade zones that remain open both at depth and along the mineralized strike. The prospect is located approximately 4.5 kilometers from the Hillgrove processing plant and is part of the antimony-gold project wholly operated by Larvotto.
Tungsten is gaining prominence as a critical mineral
Interest in Curry’s Block comes at a time of intense pressure on the global tungsten supply. China controls more than 80% of the world’s production of the metal, and this concentration has led Western governments, including Australia, to classify it as a critical mineral.
Likewise, the sustained increase in international prices has motivated mining companies to re-evaluate historical deposits with the presence of tungsten associated with other strategic metals.
Larvotto believes that Hillgrove could benefit from a long-term structural shift in the demand for tungsten, especially for its use in industrial applications, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
Historical results reinforce the potential of the deposit
The technical review of Curry’s Block identified multiple drill intersections with relevant gold equivalent and tungsten contents.
Among the most important results is the CUY009 well, which intercepted 5 meters with 11.8 g/t gold equivalent from a depth of 144 meters, including 2.9 meters with 19.5 g/t gold equivalent.
On the other hand, the CUY007 drill hole recorded 5 meters with 5.7 g/t gold equivalent from 27 meters, including a section of 0.5 meters with 44.65 g/t gold equivalent.
Regarding tungsten, historical drilling also reported intervals with significant tungsten trioxide (WO3) mineralization, including 5 meters with 0.38% WO3 in CUY009 and 1.9 meters with 0.35% WO3 in CUY005.
According to the company, these intersections confirm the continuity of the mineralized system and open up possibilities for expansion through new exploration campaigns.
Larvotto is preparing new diamond drilling
The company has received the necessary regulatory approvals to begin diamond drilling at Curry’s Block in the coming weeks. This campaign will represent the first modern, systematic follow-up program since the work carried out by Red River Resources between 2019 and 2021.
Ron Heeks, CEO of Larvotto Resources, noted that the prospect represents a growth opportunity close to Hillgrove’s existing infrastructure.
Heeks highlighted that the identified tungsten system exhibits high grade and maintains significant associations with gold and antimony. With limited follow-up to date, Curry’s Block offers considerable potential for resource expansion.
Likewise, the company continues to develop simultaneous activities in other areas of Hillgrove using several diamond drilling rigs focused on expanding mineral resources and evaluating new geophysical targets.
Meanwhile, Larvotto is making progress on the underground development of the Hillgrove project following the arrival of PYBAR Mining Services to the site at the end of 2025.
