The technology company SLB has consolidated its presence in the Middle East by securing a seven-year contract with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This agreement is part of the Ahmadi Innovation Valley (AIV) initiative, a program designed to accelerate Kuwait’s digital transformation and long-term energy objectives.
Details of the agreement for the Ahmadi Innovation Valley initiative
Both entities will collaborate on the evaluation, testing, and deployment of advanced technologies in nearly 100 operational projects. The strategic plan extends to the development of artificial intelligence, production optimization, water management, and the implementation of systems for energy transition.
On one hand, the project includes the construction of a dedicated facility for the Ahmadi Innovation Valley in Kuwaiti territory. Construction work will begin in 2026, while the official inauguration is projected for 2028. This infrastructure will function as an operational hub where academia, technical teams, and global suppliers will converge.
Likewise, KOC authorities mentioned that the alliance seeks to strengthen local capabilities and ensure technology transfer to the country’s professionals. Ahmad Jaber Al-Eidan, CEO of Kuwait Oil Company, noted that, through collaboration with leading partners, they accelerate technological implementation and expand knowledge to support the national industry.
On the other hand, the scale of the deployment represents a quantitative advance in field optimization. Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of SLB, stated that the true challenge for the sector lies in implementing technology at scale and transforming innovation into a direct impact on operations.
Finally, this award deepens a commercial relationship that spans over 85 years of continuous collaboration between both corporations. The deployment of these digital tools will position Kuwait’s energy infrastructure at the global technological forefront for the next decade.
