Saildrone announces the expansion of its international operations with the opening of a new subsidiary in Copenhagen, Denmark . This strategic decision underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening maritime intelligence in Europe through the use of its advanced unmanned surface vehicles ( USVs ).
Saildrone’s expansion into the Baltic and North Seas
The announcement was made during the Maritime Industry Symposium at the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C., and coincides with a sensitive geopolitical context marked by recent incidents of sabotage involving submarine infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.
Given the recent sabotage of critical underwater infrastructure in the Baltic Sea, the need for ongoing maritime awareness has never been greater.
Richard Jenkins, founder and CEO of Saildrone.
Increased activity in the Baltic Sea , coupled with geopolitical tensions in Europe, makes persistent maritime intelligence crucial for regional security. Saildrone USVs are designed to operate in the most challenging conditions, providing real-time data through advanced sensors that enable continuous monitoring of the surface and seabed.
Furthermore, Saildrone’s expansion in Denmark will enable the monitoring of critical infrastructure such as underwater pipelines, communication cables, and offshore energy platforms. The security vehicles provide efficient surface surveillance by performing detailed mapping of the ocean floor, enabling early detection of threats or anomalies that could affect these assets.
