Blakeley BoatWorks, a renowned shipyard in the Port of Mobile, is proud to announce the completion and delivery of its Hull 107, formally known as the MV Claire Ellen , to Cooper Marine, one of the premier riverine operations in Louisiana. This 70-foot long, 28-foot wide tug, equipped with 1,600 horsepower, fully meets the demanding requirements of the United States Coast Guard Subchapter M.
Blakeley BoatWorks Managing Director Swathin Kannalath expressed his satisfaction: “Our new boat building programme has been successful in delivering several vessels in this series, and we are pleased to have provided the sixth 70-foot tug to Cooper Marine.” The company always seeks to exceed customer expectations by focusing on quality and reliability.
Features of the MV Claire Ellen tugboat
The tug is powered by two powerful 800 HP Caterpillar C32 marine diesel engines, coupled to two Twin Disc MGX5222 gearboxes. Additionally, it is equipped with Caterpillar C4.4 Tier 3 generators that provide electrical power. With a capacity of 22,000 gallons of fuel and 5,200 gallons of fresh water, the vessel features four staterooms that can accommodate up to seven crew members , as well as three bathrooms and a full galley.
