Longroad Energy and Meta have signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 1000 Mile solar project in Yoakum County, Texas. The 300 MWac (400 MWdc) solar project is a major step forward for both companies in reducing their carbon footprint.

The 1000 Mile solar project will send its energy to the Southwest Power Pool ( SPP ), directly supporting Meta’s data center operations. According to Urvi Parekh, Director of Energy at Meta, “This project contributes to our commitment to using 100% clean, renewable energy in our operations .”

Paul Gaynor, CEO of Longroad Energy, said: ” We are proud that our largest project to date is helping Meta meet its sustainability goals .” The collaboration between the two companies now totals 1.3 GW of renewable projects.

With commercial operations expected by 2026, the project marks Longroad Energy’s advancement within the Texas SPP region, reinforcing its position as one of the leading clean energy developers in the United States.
