The Shipping Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran IRISL (Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines) announced that it is prepared to launch a direct maritime route to Brazil in July of this year and, at the same time, establish offices in the South American country, according to FarNews reports. .
“This new route could help Iranian exporters and companies to expand their presence in the Brazilian market. It will be an important advance in trade ties between the two countries,” said Hamed Qaderi, a member of the Iran-Brazil Joint Chamber of Commerce.

Iran and Brazil have trade cooperation that amounts to billions of dollars a year.
Furthermore, Brazil is one of Iran’s main suppliers of corn and beef, while the latter supplies petrochemicals, including shipments of urea, necessary for the Brazilian agricultural sector.
On the other hand, Iran in recent years has tried to expand its routes, with the aim of boosting its income through foreign trade. Additionally, the country is looking to diversify as it moves away from crude oil exports.
