The Japanese energy company Idemitsu Kosan joins the American company H-Cycle to boost the production of green hydrogen from waste. With the goal of commissioning the first hydrogen production facility around 2030, processing between 200 and 300 tons of waste per day, Idemitsu demonstrates its commitment to a more sustainable and responsible energy future.
The collaboration of Idemitsu Kosan and H-Cycle
The Idemitsu Kosan and H-Cycle collaboration enables the production of green hydrogen through a thermal conversion process that uses heat and electricity to transform waste into hydrogen with minimal emissions. This integrated process of gasification and plasma polishing allows the production of clean hydrogen with high added value.
The multiple applications of the green hydrogen produced
The green hydrogen produced has multiple applications, from its use in industries and mobility to its use as raw material for synthetic fuels. The efficient waste treatment technology developed by Idemitsu and H-Cycle will enable local production for local energy consumption, reducing transportation costs and developing supply bases for hydrogen that is produced and consumed locally.
Idemitsu Kosan promotes the production of green hydrogen from waste, demonstrating its commitment to a more sustainable and responsible future from an environmental point of view. With the collaboration of H-Cycle and local governments, Idemitsu seeks to bring to life its vision of a greener and more sustainable energy future.
