Black-I Robotics announced its participation in MODEX 2024, the premier material handling industry trade show to be held March 11-14 in Atlanta. On this occasion, Black-I will present its innovative artificial intelligence-based Fullscope heavy lifting mobile robot.
This event attracts some 45,000 executives and supply chain personnel, featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors showcasing their products for the logistics and manufacturing industries.
The company’s CEO, Brian Hart, expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the most significant supply chain and manufacturing event of 2024, highlighting the collaboration with ORBIS, an international leader in reusable packaging, in their joint effort to foster a more economical and sustainable supply chain.
Fullscope: the mobile heavy lifting robot
The Fullscope robot, first introduced at MODEX 2022, stood out especially among companies affected by worker shortages, injuries and high error rates. This robot is capable of replacing up to five workers per 24-hour shift, drastically reducing human error rates, improving productivity and time to market, and reducing costs.
Its patented battery technology allows for continuous operation and its innovative vision system creates a safety perimeter that protects both workers and other objects in the workplace, without the need for cages or other cumbersome safety systems.
Hart also pointed to the growing need for standardization due to the intensive use of robots and other automated devices in warehouses and manufacturing plants. Fullscope’s robotic arm, mounted on an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), is equipped with multiple 2D and 3D cameras that live stream the optimal path into storage spaces, picking and placing loads of different shapes and sizes up to 100 pounds. The consistency of ORBIS reusable containers optimizes this process, making it faster and more accurate.
Following the success at the 2022 show, Black-I Robotics has collaborated with several leading e-commerce, consumer products, manufacturing and transportation companies, significantly improving the vision, safety, battery life and other aspects of its robot. Now in version 9 and 10, the company has customized elements such as grips to meet specific customer needs, including a contract for version 10 with one of the world’s largest transportation companies.
