Austal Philippines shipyard continues its success with the delivery of a 32-metre catamaran ferry to Rottnest Fast Ferries. This new passenger vessel, named Ocean Master, began construction in Balamban, Cebu , and was completed in a record time of less than 12 months. The delivery followed a successful sea trial period, which was successfully concluded in November.
Details and features of the Ocean Master
With capacity for 400 passengers and 5 crew members spread across three decks, the Ocean Master will offer a service between Hillarys Boat Harbour and Rottnest Island , in Western Australia. Powered by two 1029 kW MAN D2862 diesel engines , this catamaran reaches an operating speed of up to 25 knots, guaranteeing an efficient 45-minute journey between the two points.
Furthermore, Ocean Master not only meets operational requirements, but has also been designed to maximise passenger comfort. Ample storage space for bicycles and luggage is provided on the decks.
