Aviation could be about to undergo a radical transformation thanks to the Airhart Sling , an innovative aircraft designed by Airhart Aeronautics that has been created to simplify the process of flying as much as possible , allowing pilots to enjoy a flying experience more similar to that of driving a car.
This is how the Airhart Sling works
The Airhart Sling is an aircraft model based on the lightweight structure of the Sling TSi, but with a revolutionary approach to automation. While traditional aircraft require a series of manual controls, such as a rudder and pedals, the Airhart Sling introduces a simplified control stick that allows pilots to manage flight in a much more intuitive way.
This flight automation, using fly-by-wire technology , allows the onboard electronic system to automatically adjust the engine and control surfaces of the aircraft based on the pilot’s commands. This means that pilots can simply push the stick in the desired direction and let the system take care of the rest.
The company aims to significantly reduce the complexity of flying , bringing the experience closer to that of driving a car.
How much does the Airhart Sling cost?
In addition to making flying more accessible, the Airhart Sling also promises to reduce operating costs . Priced at around $500,000 , the plane is designed to be more affordable than similar models, in the hopes of opening up aviation to a wider audience.
Safety is also a priority for Airhart Aeronautics, as the aircraft is equipped with multiple redundant safety systems, ensuring that the plane is safe even if a complete system failure occurs . In the event of an emergency, pilots can deploy a parachute from the fuselage, adding an extra layer of protection.
Although pilots operating the aircraft currently need to meet standard training requirements for private jets, the company hopes that in the near future, regulations will be adapted to allow for more streamlined training. Simplified pilot licenses would allow more people to enter the world of aviation, without having to overcome the traditionally steep learning curve.
The Airhart Sling is scheduled to be available in 2026 , with deliveries beginning that year. Airhart Aeronautics is currently accepting pre-orders with a $1,000 deposit and hopes the simplified model will change the way people perceive and experience flight. Longer term, the company has plans to produce even more affordable versions, with the goal of bringing the price of the Airhart Sling down to $100,000.
