Wärtsilä and Pardus Energy signed a five-year lifecycle agreement to improve operational reliability and maintenance planning for the Turquoise P floating storage and regasification unit.

The contract took effect in April 2026. In addition, Wärtsilä recorded the order during the second quarter of the year. The scope includes contract management, technical planning, and the supply of original spare parts for the equipment installed on board.

A contract to reduce operational risk

First, the agreement aims to provide Pardus Energy with a stable framework to organize the FSRU’s maintenance tasks. The company will be able to anticipate interventions, secure original manufacturer parts, and more accurately prepare the scheduled overhauls during the contract period.

Planning will also improve cost predictability. This is relevant for a unit that operates in a stationary mode and whose availability affects the daily operation of a liquefied natural gas terminal.

According to Pardus Energy, the service model will facilitate preparation for the 36K and 48K overhauls. These interventions require technical coordination, component availability, and scheduling that can limit downtime.

How the agreement improves operation of the Turquoise P FSRU

In addition, the Turquoise P operates as a stationary FSRU at the ETKI LNG terminal in Aliaga, Turkey. The unit receives LNG, stores it, and returns it to a gaseous state before it is fed into the supply system.

The vessel entered service in 2019 and uses Wärtsilä technology. Due to its role, an unplanned shutdown can create operational and commercial impacts for the terminal and the gas supply chain.

For this reason, timely access to OEM spare parts is key. Pardus Energy will be able to reduce the uncertainty associated with major interventions and increase the availability of the systems installed on the vessel.

Planned maintenance and original spare parts

Likewise, Wärtsilä will contribute its expertise as an equipment manufacturer to coordinate maintenance activities. The service will combine technical support, overhaul planning, and parts management over the five-year contract term.

Osman Kolay, Director of LNGC and FSRU Operations at Pardus Energy, noted that reliability and careful planning are essential for this type of vessel. According to the executive, the agreement provides a clear structure to manage critical tasks and approach the upcoming overhauls with greater confidence.

From Wärtsilä Marine, Henrik Wilhelms stated that the goal is to provide greater certainty over the lifecycle of an FSRU asset considered critical. The company expects to help reduce operational risk and facilitate long-term planning.

Lifecycle management of a critical FSRU

Finally, the contract also strengthens lifecycle management of the equipment. Keeping the systems in proper condition can limit failures, avoid corrective work, and improve maintenance efficiency.

Wärtsilä Marine develops energy, propulsion, and lifecycle support solutions for the maritime sector. The company combines engines, propulsion systems, digital technologies, and services aimed at improving vessel efficiency and environmental performance.

For Pardus Energy, the agreement represents an operational control tool. Planning for spare parts, overhauls, and technical activities will help sustain the availability of the Turquoise P and reduce exposure to unforeseen disruptions.
