Q Energy’s 96 MW solar project starts up in Valladolid

The Zaratan project will supply 50,000 households and avoid 33,000 tons of CO₂ per year.

Q Energy has begun construction of its ambitious Zaratan solar project, located west of Valladolid, in the community of Castilla y León, Spain. This new photovoltaic photovoltaic facility will have a capacity of 96 MWp, enough to generate green electricity for almost 50,000 households.

A solar plant with storage and environmental sustainability

The project includes three adjacent solar power plants, each equipped with a BESS unit. BESS unit 4-hour BESS energy storage. This design will increase the operational flexibility of the system, improving the management of electricity production and adapting to the needs of the system.

Zaratan does not limit itself to producing renewable energy. The development includes a strong environmental commitment, with the installation of native vegetation screens, insect hotels, nest boxes and pastures for livestock. This seeks to integrate the project with the local ecosystem and encourage biodiversity.

With this project, the company has more than 400 MWp under construction in 2025 alone, consolidating its role as a key player in the energy transition in Spain. EPC director Mauro di Fiore stressed that the company plans to continue expanding its capacity in collaboration with local suppliers.
