NG Energy International Corp. announced operational advances in its Sinú-9 and María Conchita blocks in Colombia, where it is executing a drilling program, well workover and infrastructure expansion aimed at increasing natural gas production and transportation capacity.
Activities include the start of drilling of the Mágico-2X well, the expansion of gas evacuation infrastructure to Jobo, and the preparation of the next development well in María Conchita, consolidating the company’s growth strategy in one of the most dynamic gas markets in Latin America.
Mágico-2X strengthens the drilling campaign in Sinú-9
The Mágico-2X well began operations on June 26 as the second of a six-well program operated by Maurel & Prom Colombia in the Sinú-9 block. Its main objective is to evaluate the Pre-CDO–San Cayetano formation, an interval that has shown high productive potential following the results obtained from the Hechicero-1X well.
Tests carried out by NG Energy in that reservoir recorded flow rates of up to 26.4 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of gas in gross production. Currently, the well operates at approximately 15 MMcf/d, a rate defined to preserve reservoir pressure and optimize long-term recovery through responsible reservoir management practices.
Infrastructure increases gas evacuation capacity
Concurrently with the drilling program, construction of the initial pipeline circuit to Jobo, developed by INFRAES SASESP, was completed, an infrastructure that will increase the transportation capacity of the Sinú-9 block.
Once mechanical tests and the commissioning of the Jobo and Guayabal facilities are completed, the evacuation capacity will increase from the current 30 MMcf/d to an estimated range between 40 and 45 MMcf/d, creating the necessary conditions to incorporate production from the new wells of the campaign.
Currently, the block records production close to 17.5 MMcf/d of gas in gross terms.
María Conchita prepares a new development phase
In the María Conchita block, production reaches approximately 14.8 MMcf/d, while the existing infrastructure has sufficient capacity to process up to 30 MMcf/d, allowing future production increases to be absorbed without requiring immediate expansions.
NG Energy is also advancing in the workover of the Aruchara-1 well, whose operations include isolation of producing zones, opening of new intervals, installation of sand control systems, and comprehensive well workover. After completing these operations, NG Energy will begin drilling the Aruchara-6 well, considered the next step in the block’s development plan.
NG Energy strengthens its financial position
As part of the corporate update, the company confirmed receipt of a new payment of 15 million dollars from Etablissements Maurel & Prom, corresponding to the Sinú-9 block transaction.
With this disbursement, the amount received amounts to 135 million dollars, while the final payment, scheduled for July, will raise the total of the transaction to 150 million dollars. These resources support the continuity of the drilling program, infrastructure development, and the expansion of production capacity in Colombia.
