The delivery of the Harmonic Breeze took place during a ceremony at the South Korean shipyard of Hanwha Ocean, where Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) formalized its strategic relationship with INPEX. This is a long-term charter contract that ensures energy flows to markets through cutting-edge technology.

The agreement for the Harmonic Breeze vessel

This LNG carrier demonstrates a serious commitment to precision engineering. The vessel uses an air lubrication system and a shaft generator to optimize MEGA engine performance.

These implementations reduce hull friction with the water and improve energy efficiency. Likewise, the vessel has a capacity of 174,000 m³ in membrane tanks designed to minimize gas boil-off during long voyages.

The company seeks to stabilize its revenues amid volatility in the shipping market, with the Blue Action 2035 management plan, which establishes extended contracts and a cleaner fleet. This environmental vision translates into a tangible reduction in GHG emissions compared to conventional fleets.

Collaboration between Jotaro Tamura’s team and Takayuki Ueda’s leadership strengthens security in INPEX’s supply chain. The Harmonic Breeze will operate under the management of MOL Global Ship Management, ensuring rigorous safety standards.

The vessel represents the industry’s ability to integrate complex technical solutions and ambitious business objectives into a single maritime transport project.
