AsInt launches Edge, carrying nearly a decade of integrity engineering, first built in SAP, onto a platform of its own, making its standards-based engineering capabilities available to operators across a broad range of enterprise environments.

Edge debuts at the API Inspection and Mechanical Integrity Summit in San Antonio, where AsInt is exhibiting at Booth 418.

Engineering methodology becomes platform independent

For years, built mechanical integrity, reliability, and inspection applications native to SAP, serving operators across oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, pipelines, power, and mining. Edge does not replace that work. It builds upon this strong foundation that AsInt has established.

The company now supports and sells both its deep SAP application suite for enterprises standardized on SAP and Edge for those who want the same standards-based engineering methodology on a platform that runs anywhere. The world should not have to choose between trust and reach. With AsInt, it does not.

This architectural approach separates engineering intelligence from enterprise infrastructure, allowing organizations to preserve validated engineering workflows while integrating them into a broader range of digital ecosystems.

Fitness-for-Service leads the platform’s first release

The first engineering application released is Fitness-for-Service (FFS), one of the most technically demanding disciplines within asset integrity management.

Led by API 579 specialist Phil Prueter, P.E., the application enables engineers to evaluate pressure equipment affected by corrosion, cracking, creep, mechanical damage, and other degradation mechanisms using recognized engineering methodologies and fully auditable calculations.

Selecting FFS as the platform’s inaugural application is strategically significant. Unlike administrative inspection tools, Fitness-for-Service directly supports engineering decisions concerning continued operation, repair, rerating, or replacement of critical equipment. These assessments often determine whether assets can safely remain in service, making analytical accuracy and traceability essential.

The company also confirmed that additional mobile applications and AI-assisted engineering functions are planned as the platform evolves.

A broader shift in industrial software

Fitness-for-Service (FFS) is the first application available , offered through a self-service delivery model, with a growing family of mobile applications and AI-assisted functions to follow. The principle beneath all of it does not change.

The Platform enables analysts to efficiently carry out critical engineering and FFS assessments that address many different damage mechanisms and equipment failure modes. Phil Prueter, P.E., an expert API 579 practitioner, leads fitness-for-service on the platform. As with all software, the calculations are based on defensible and established engineering methodologies and are designed to provide an auditable record of the calculation process.

Engineering is becoming portable
