Vector Geophysical will use the Halo-Connect equipment in a Parex Resources project to accelerate high-density ground seismic acquisition, Vector Geophysical acquired 30,000 seismic nodes STRYDE Halo-Connect to expand its terrestrial data acquisition capacity. Its first deployment will be in an exploration and development project of Parex Resources with this equipment, the company will be able to expand its high-density seismic surveys and obtain subsurface information to help guide exploration and development decisions.
30,000 seismic nodes for exploration in Colombia
The order represents the first major deployment of the technology Halo-Connect by STRYDE a new generation of miniature seismic nodes, unveiled in June 2026, will be used by Vector Geophysical, which will utilize the 30,000 devices along with the Nimble Receiver System from STRYDE. This configuration will allow crews to rotate up to 3,780 seismic nodes per day during fieldwork, the company seeks to accelerate high-density seismic acquisition and reduce the logistical needs of campaigns covering large areas of land.
Vector Geophysical expands its seismic acquisition capacity
Investment in this technology was a key factor in securing the project, explained the CEO of Vector Geophysical, Felipe Lizarralde the executive noted that STRYDE’s systems expand the company’s capabilities and allow for faster management of high-density seismic programs by integrating field activities with data delivery. In these campaigns, the pace of work depends on both the number of receivers available and how quickly crews can deploy, retrieve, and reuse them.
STRYDE Lens will process the data from the field
Vector Geophysical also plans to incorporate STRUGGLES Lens a system that allows remote processing of seismic data as data is acquired in the field, the tool provides near real-time information on record quality and subsurface conditions. This allows for the detection of potential problems during acquisition and the evaluation of data while the survey is underway, the combination of Halo-Connect, Nimble Receiver System, and STRYDE Lens thus integrates different stages of seismic acquisition and processing into a single operation.
Higher resolution data for the Colombian subsoil
The rollout comes at a time when operators are seeking higher resolution information about the subsurface to guide their exploration and development decisions.
The Parex Resources project will be the first application of these 30,000 STRYDE seismic nodes and will test, on a large scale, the new generation Halo-Connect in land seismic acquisition campaigns in Colombia.
