The giant FPSO P-78, operated by Petrobras and built by Seatrium, achieved a new technical milestone: the first gas injection, completed just 61 days after the start of oil production. This step consolidates its transition to full operations in the Búzios field, one of Brazil’s most productive offshore areas.

Located more than 2,000 meters deep in the Santos Basin, the P-78 is one of the country’s largest floating production units. With a capacity to process up to 180,000 barrels of crude oil and 7.2 million cubic meters of gas daily, this vessel plays a key role in Brazil’s energy security.

Gas injection in FPSO P-78 and global coordination

Seatrium executed a full scope of module integration, commissioning, and delivery, mobilizing resources from shipyards in Brazil, China, South Korea, and Singapore. Under its “One Seatrium” model, the company successfully synchronized complex operations and reduced critical timelines, enabling early gas injection.

This technical achievement is the result of deep collaboration with Petrobras and its global network of suppliers, ensuring the availability of key compressors and critical systems. Additionally, Seatrium maintained strict safety and quality standards throughout all project phases.
