New nuclear-powered container ship

CSSC has unveiled plans for the first container ship powered by a molten salt nuclear reactor. According to The Maritime Executive, the design of this vessel has obtained a Certificate of Approval in Principle (AiP) from DNV.

Although the company has not revealed many details about the project, it has highlighted various research and tests carried out with thorium-based reactors.

In addition, this vessel will have a capacity of 24 thousand TEU , making it the largest nuclear-powered container ship in the world.
