Nord Gas Solutions will supply cargo handling and LPG fuel supply systems for two new medium-sized 40,000 m³ gas carriers that HD Hyundai builds for Byzantine Maritime.
Nord Gas Solutions will supply CHS and LFSS systems
The contract, signed in June 2026, covers the supply of cargo handling systems (CHS) and feeding systems for combustible GLP (LFSS) for both vessels, belonging to the Medium Gas Carrier (MGC) segment.
The delivery of the equipment to the shipyard is scheduled for April 2027 when they will be incorporated into the ship construction process. Each unit will thus have Nord Gas Solutions technology for both managing gas loading and supplying LPG as fuel.
Byzantine Maritime is once again using technology from Nord Gas Solutions
The order continues the business relationship between Nord Gas Solutions and HD Hyundai it also represents a new choice of supplier by Byzantine Maritime, which already uses its equipment in the fleet.
Patrick Ha, sales director of Nord Gas Solutions, highlighted the years of collaboration with the shipbuilder and appreciated that Byzantine Maritime had once again selected the company’s systems for its new vessels.
The supplier’s activities encompass the development of cargo and fuel handling systems for the maritime transport of gases. In addition to engineering and equipment supply, it provides support during commissioning and gas testing.
Nord Gas Solutions operates under a new corporate identity
The agreement marks a new phase for the company, is the brand adopted following the acquisition of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions by Mutares SE & Co., a transaction that was finalized on June 1, 2026.
Under this identity, the company maintains its activity in the development and supply of technologies for gas handling and fuel supply in specialized vessels.
The contract for the two MGCs from Byzantine Maritime continues that activity and the commercial relationships that the supplier had established before the rebranding.
