Apptronik, the innovative robotics company, recently closed a Series A round of funding, raising a total of $403 million . This funding, which includes investors such as Mercedes-Benz, Japan Post Capital, ARK Invest, and Google, will accelerate production of the Apollo robot , a humanoid designed to work alongside humans in industrial settings.

Mercedes-Benz will use the Apollo humanoid robot in its factories to improve efficiency and safety in vehicle production. The integration of Apollo into Mercedes-Benz factories represents the first step toward a broader collaboration between humanoid robotics and the automotive industry.

Jörg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz, highlighted how Apollo, currently being tested at its Berlin-Marienfelde Digital Factory campus, will help set new standards in manufacturing.

The future of automation

The funding will help expand Apollo production, allowing Apptronik to meet the growing demand for humanoid robots in sectors such as manufacturing , logistics, and electronics. Standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds , Apollo is designed to work in factories and distribution centers, collaborating closely with human workers to optimize production processes .

This financial and strategic support from Mercedes-Benz and other key investors will enable Apptronik to take important steps toward the large-scale implementation of humanoid robots, positioning the company as a leader in the next generation of industrial automation.
