Northern Ocean signs agreement to upgrade semi-submarine platforms

Northern Ocean Ltd. ( NOL ) has signed a Letter of Intent ( LOI ) with Kinetic Pressure Control to equip its sixth generation semi-subsea platforms, Deepsea Mira and Deepsea Bollsta , with the innovative Kinetic Blowout Stopper ( K-BOS ) system.

This system will enable wells to be secured in less than a second, improving safety in operations in ultra-deep waters and hostile marine environments. A technology that enables increased protection of offshore platforms.

According to Arne Jacobsen, CEO of NOL, this collaboration will strengthen the company’s competitiveness by offering its customers cutting-edge well control technology , increasing the capacity and reliability of its platforms. K-BOS has a proven track record and will be important in meeting the growing demand for safe and efficient solutions from oil and gas companies .

For his part, Steven Angstmann, CEO of Kinetic Pressure Control , highlighted that the K-BOS system will minimize the risk of oil spills, establishing new industry standards for offshore operations.

With the implementation of this technology, NOL reaffirms its commitment to offering safe and competitive solutions in offshore drilling, preparing for new contracts in the competitive deepwater sector.
