Mercedes-Benz EV owners can now access more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States and Canada . This integration, managed through the Mercedes me Charge service, will allow drivers to charge their cars more quickly and conveniently with the Plug & Charge function.
More charging stations for Mercedes electric vehicles
Mercedes-Benz has strengthened its commitment to electric mobility by facilitating access to Tesla’s fast-charging network . With this alliance, the brand’s customers will be able to enjoy efficient and hassle-free charging, without the need for additional authentication or payment processes, since the system will manage these aspects automatically .
Furthermore, this expansion is part of a broader Mercedes-Benz strategy, which includes its own network of High-Power Charging stations, which continues to grow in several regions of North America.
Tesla NACS standard compatibility
Tesla has updated its NACS website to include Mercedes-Benz in its compatible brands section, officially confirming that the German brand’s electric vehicles will be able to use Tesla Superchargers.
To enable current Mercedes-Benz models with CCS1 charging ports to use Tesla Superchargers, the company will release a NACS to CCS1 DC Fast Charging Adapter . This accessory will be available for purchase at authorized dealers in the United States during the first quarter of 2025, costing $185 USD .
Now all new Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles in North America will directly integrate the NACS charging port, allowing drivers to connect to any fast-charging station without the need for adapters.
A more accessible charging ecosystem
Access to Tesla Superchargers will add to Mercedes me Charge’s growing public charging network, which already has more than 110,000 charging points in the US and Canada. This platform also offers access to other networks such as Electrify America, EVGo, ChargePoint and IONNA, consolidating a more complete charging experience for the brand’s drivers.
With the Navigation with Electric Intelligence feature, Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be able to automatically plan the best charging route, identifying available stations in real time and optimising charging times. In addition, dealers will offer free software updates to ensure compatibility with the Tesla network and Plug & Charge functionality.
