The AxEMU spacesuit is ready for the moon
The AxEMU (Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit) has been developed in close collaboration between the two companies. While Axiom Space was responsible for integrating life support systems and advanced protection, Prada brought its expertise in handling high-performance materials , ensuring both functionality and aesthetics. This suit will protect astronauts from the harsh conditions of the lunar south pole and will offer a visually appealing design that reflects the spirit of the Prada brand.
In addition, the suit has been designed to fit a wide range of astronauts, including women, and will be equipped with technology that allows for walking in the lunar environment for more than eight hours . Prada has used advanced sewing techniques to ensure comfort without sacrificing protection, allowing astronauts to move with greater flexibility than with previous suits.
