GE Vernova secured a new contract to supply wind turbines intended for a wind project 163,4 MW developed by Enfinity Global in India, the agreement strengthens both companies’ presence in one of the fastest-growing renewable energy markets and will contribute to expanding the country’s wind power generation capacity.
Wind turbines for the Rajasthan project
The contract covers the supply and installation of 43 onshore wind turbines of 3.8 MW, equipped with a rotor diameter of 154 meters, which will be installed in the wind farm which Enfinity Global develops in Fatehgarh, located in the state of Rajasthan, in northwest India.
Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin during fourth quarter of 2026 the units will be manufactured at GE Vernova’s plant located in Pune, facility which has an annual production capacity of up to 1.500 MW, allowing us to meet the growing demand of the Indian renewable energy market.
Local manufacturing to promote renewable growth
Local manufacturing represents a strategic component within GE Vernova’s expansion plan in India, as it facilitates compliance with the country’s regulatory requirements and strengthens the supply chain for future wind energy developments.
Deepak Maloo, general manager of GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in India, stated that the certification ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) and local production in Pune positions the company to support both Enfinity Global and other renewable project developers.
He also emphasized that these capabilities will support the Indian government’s goal of achieving 500 GW of installed renewable energy capacity, a goal that is being promoted by new investments in wind and solar infrastructure across the country.
Enfinity Global continues to expand its portfolio in India
Enfinity Global maintains a strategy of sustained growth in the Indian energy market; currently, the company has a portfolio of approximately 4 GW of renewable energy projects in various stages of development and close to 300 MW they are already in operation.
This new order will allow progress to be made on the construction of the Fatehgarh wind farm and will strengthen the collaboration between both companies to develop new renewable generation capacity in the region.
With this contract, GE Vernova consolidates its position as a supplier of wind turbines for the Indian market, while Enfinity Global continues to expand its presence in one of the countries with the greatest potential for the development of clean energy.
