In the heart of energy where innovations meets determination, on May 22nd, 2023, Houston, became the epicenter of the liquid terminal industry, The George R. Brown Convention Center was preparing to host the leaders and visionaries of the industry. The day began with breakfast, a time for exchanging ideas and preparing for the day of learning ahead. Then Dr. Kathryn Clay and Tim Winters took the stage their words marking the start of an event that promised to be unforgettable.
Jason Dorsey, a leader in the understanding generations in the workforce, first captured everyone’s attention. His talk was a call to action, a reminder of the diversity and richness of experiences that each generation brings to the industry, the simultaneous sessions offered a deep insight into the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, from environmental justice to digital transformation each session was a testament to innovation and progress in the industry.
Lunch served as an opportunity for connection building, followed by the safety awards, a recognition of those who strive to keep our operations safe and efficient. The afternoon sessions continued with the same intensity and passion, addressing topics such as PFAS, digital transformation, perspectives on the next generation of the workforce and insightful approaches to marine and duct safety.
The day ended with a reception at the altitude pool at the Marriott Marquis. It was a moment of celebration, a recognition of the success of the first day and the anticipation of what was to come.
