SLOM Celebrates 20th Anniversary: A Legacy of Collaboration and Sustainability

SLOM, which began as the Latin American Society of Monobuoy Operators, has evolved over the years to encompass the operation of marine oil terminals and monobuoys. Its focus has always been on promoting safety and efficiency in operations, key aspects for the transportation of hydrocarbons.

At SLOM’s inaugural event in 2005, the foundation was laid for a collaboration that continues to this day, becoming an annual gathering of growing relevance. Over these 20 years, SLOM has facilitated 460 workshops, 940 presentations and has had more than 5,000 attendees in various sessions.

Celebrating two decades of innovation, collaboration and industry excellence, SLOM has witnessed the evolution of oil seaports and played a key role in their transformation towards safer and more sustainable operations.

SLOM’s annual conference continues to be the epicenter of the maritime industry in Latin America, promoting strategic alliances with maritime organizations and authorities, and leading innovative projects that reflect its mission of promoting safe and sustainable maritime transport.
