Firetrol Protection Systems, a subsidiary of Germany-based Minimax, made a significant impact at the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) 2024 conference with their cutting-edge fire suppression technology. In an engaging interview with Inspenet, Wesley Dean, MXOne Business Development at Firetrol, introduced the high-performance MXOne fire turbine to the North American market.
Long-Distance Water Delivery: The MXOne Fire Turbine in Action
The MXOne fire turbine is a state-of-the-art fire monitor capable of delivering water over long distances more effectively and safely. “This high-performance fire turbine monitor can operate from a safe distance, delivering water more effectively and efficiently,” explained Wesley Dean. The MXOne has already been adopted by clients in California and Colorado for use in urban-forest interface areas, providing protection against wildfires and other fire-related hazards.
Dean highlighted the technical capabilities of the MXOne, including its ability to flow 1,060 gallons per minute with operating pressures ranging from 58 PSI to 230 PSI. The unit can rotate 360 degrees and adjust elevations from -19 to 43 degrees, ensuring comprehensive coverage. A unique feature of the MXOne is its turbine fan monitor, which helps maintain a laminar flow over long distances, reaching up to 300 feet in straight stream configuration.
Additionally, the MXOne is versatile in its application, being compatible with both water and foam fire suppression systems, regardless of the foam’s manufacturer or viscosity. This adaptability ensures optimal performance and benefits for end-users. The unit also includes a 20-nozzle atomizer ring, which produces water mist, an effective method for heat absorption and smoke and particulate reduction.
Firetrol’s participation at ILTA 2024 underscores their commitment to providing innovative and effective fire suppression solutions, showcasing their expertise and leadership in the industry.
