Jensen Mixers, a pioneer in side entry mixer technology, proudly presented their advanced mixing solutions at the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) 2024 conference. Richard Stovall, Manufacturer’s Representative of Jensen Mixers, highlighted in an interview with Inspenet the company’s rich history and innovative products during an insightful interview at the event.

“Jensen Mixers has been a leader in the side entry mixer industry for almost 75 years,” Richard began. “Our mixers are designed to bolt onto the side of storage tanks, whether they contain crude oil, vegetable oil, gasoline, or naphtha. They are essential for keeping BS&W moving, preventing sediment buildup, and ensuring thorough blending.”

Evolving Technology, Unchanging Principle: The Story of Jensen Mixers

He explained the evolution of their technology, from the early days when mixers were driven by tractors to today’s advanced models equipped with motors. “Our founder’s ingenious idea of attaching a propeller to a shaft and mounting it on a crude oil tank manway revolutionized sediment management. Although we have moved away from tractors, the core concept remains the same, enhanced by new technology.”

Jensen Mixers’ side entry mixers are designed for easy maintenance and repair. “Most maintenance tasks can be performed without unbolting the mixer from the tank or lowering the liquid level,” Richard noted. “This ease of maintenance sets us apart in the industry.”

The cost of Jensen Mixers varies based on size and motor capacity, with prices ranging from a few thousand dollars for small tanks to approximately $40,000 for the largest units. The company exports its products worldwide, with representatives in regions including Germany, Colombia, and Taiwan.

“Our mixers are designed to be easily installed by terminal mechanics using standard lifting equipment and API flanges,” Richard explained. “This user-friendly design ensures that our products are accessible to a broad range of clients.”

Richard concluded the interview by expressing gratitude for the opportunity to showcase Jensen Mixers at ILTA 2024. “Thank you for having us here. It’s been a pleasure to share our story and innovations.”
