From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conference, Richard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing representatives of OMNI NDE, James Bennett, Chief Technology Officer & Founder and Jay Humphrey, Director Business Development, They mention that the company is making a difference in the world of non-destructive testing (NDT).

This is our first time at ASNT. We started our own company earlier this year, and we are excited to showcase our COBOTS robots and laser ultrasound technologies on this renowned stage” added Jay.

A Revolution in Inspections

OMNI NDE, founded in February 2023, has come to market with a bold vision of bridging the gap between high-end medical imaging technology and non-destructive inspections in the aerospace industry and beyond. OMNI NDE’s COBOTS, manufactured by German startup NOURA, offer precise and versatile capabilities with metrology built in.

Our COBOTS are like Swiss Army knives in the inspection world, as they can be easily adapted for different applications, such as X-ray, computed tomography, laminography and more” noted Jay.

Innovative Results

James Bennett, OMNI NDE’s Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the unique ability of its ZERIAN laser ultrasound systems to generate high-resolution images without touching parts in any additional way. This allows technicians to detect individual features on inspections, even on curved objects.

We are taking spatial resolution to an unprecedented level in the inspection world. Our goal is to provide high-end capabilities to the NDT industry, similar to advanced medical imaging” James emphasized.

Innovation and Adaptability

OMNI NDE offers its solutions as products that customers can configure to their needs. This includes permanent or mobile installation options, depending on the use case. The company works closely with its customers to ensure a successful implementation.

The Future of NDT Inspections

Despite being a newly founded company, OMNI NDE has attracted a great deal of interest in the NDT industry. Its focus on innovation and adaptability is leading the way to an exciting future in nondestructive inspections.
