From Male-Dominated Industry to a Women’s Expanding Role

During ILTA 2024, Elaine Boubenider shared her vision and experience with the Inspenet team at the Women in Tanks event, where she highlighted how the industry has always embraced and welcomed female members in a field primarily dominated by men.

Elaine, is a long-time industry profesional, Managing Partner at AC Two, one of the sponsors of the Women in Tanks event. She spoke about the importance of inclusivity in the tank terminal industry.

A Male-dominated Industry facing a Cultural Shift

While the industry has traditionally been male-dominated, there is a growing recognition of the value that women bring to the table. This is reflected in the increasing number of women entering the workforce and taking on leadership roles.

Elaine, attending the ILTA for 37 years, has witnessed the industry’s evolution. While acknowledging it remains male-dominated, she emphasizes a sense of welcome and value placed on women’s contributions.
