Crearán una comunidad energética en un pueblo de México

Solaria, a giant in the photovoltaic solar energy sector in Europe, announced its project to create an energy community in Durón, Guadalajara, with an investment of 200,000 euros. This initiative seeks to combat demographic decline in rural areas by offering a sustainable and economical solution for energy supply.

Energy community in Guadalajara

In an action aimed at sustainability and support for the local economy, this energy community will produce up to 200 KW of power. It will be intended to cover the energy needs of the municipality, residents and local businesses that voluntarily join. This effort underscores Solaria’s commitment to the well-being of the communities near its solar energy production facilities. solar energy .

Durón, a small town with approximately 115 inhabitants that increases in population during the summer due to its proximity to the Entrepeñas reservoir, will benefit significantly from this project. Juan Ramírez, the mayor, has stressed that the purpose of this energy community is not only to provide renewable energy at a minimum cost, but also to encourage local economic development by taking advantage of the municipality’s exceptional natural environment.

Energy communities represent an innovative strategy for energy self-consumption, encouraging citizen involvement in the production of renewable energy. This model then supports the transition to greener energy sources and offers a viable solution to the demographic challenge facing places like Duron.

Other similar projects

In addition to the Durón energy community, Solaria is developing similar projects in areas adjacent to its monumental 626 MW Cifuentes-Trillo photovoltaic project. These initiatives include technical advice for the optimization of municipal assets, off-grid self-consumption projects and rural development strategies that promote sustainable forest management, benefiting multiple municipalities near the Entrepeñas reservoir.

The Cifuentes-Trillo photovoltaic park, one of the largest in Europe, is expected to generate revenues in excess of 700 million euros for the public sector over its lifetime. With a production capacity of 1,200 GWh per year, this complex will provide clean energy to more than 380,000 people, exceeding the total population of Guadalajara, and will contribute significantly to thereduction ofCO2 emissions, with more than 250,000 tons less each year.

It is worth noting that the creation of energy communities such as Durón is not only a step towards the energy independence of small towns, but also acts as a catalyst for the economic and social revitalization of rural areas. By integrating these projects into their development plans, municipalities like Durón can attract new investment, encourage sustainable tourism and promote environmental conservation, leading the way to a greener and more prosperous future for generations to come.
