Amogy, located in New York, has established a tripartite collaboration with two subsidiaries of the South Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group to promote ecological ships. This strategic agreement aims to implement Amogy’s advanced technology that converts ammonia into clean energy to propel vessels.

Hanwha Ocean, formerly known as DSME and recognized as one of the world’s leading shipbuilders, has completed the purchase of an ammonia-based electrical power system from Amogy . This system integrates a hydrogen fuel cell developed by Hanwha Aerospace, thus expanding the possibilities of using renewable energy in shipbuilding.

For his part, Seonghoon Woo, CEO of Amogy, highlighted the importance of this alliance, which combines the cutting-edge in ammonia conversion technology with Hanwha Ocean’s solid experience in shipbuilding and Hanwha Aerospace’s knowledge in fuel cells. The executive emphasized that this joint effort will establish new parameters in the use of clean energy within the maritime sector.
