With the recent acquisition of ROVOP, Chouest has significantly expanded its subsea services portfolio. ROVOP, a prominent Scottish firm specializing in remotely operated vehicles, is thus integrated into the Chouest structure, strengthening the company’s subsea services division, known as C-Innovation.

This expansion not only increases the number of ROVs in operation under Chouest to more than 100, but also adds six advanced autonomous underwater vehicles to its fleet. This increase in technical resources positions Chouest very well in global submarine operations.

By integrating ROVOP into its conglomerate, Chouest not only expands its service capacity, but also provides ROVOP with considerable support thanks to the synergy with other subsidiaries of the group, such as Caltex Oil Tools and Bram Offshore. This will allow ROVOP to continue to effectively serve its current customer base, as well as expand its reach in the global market.

According to Dino Chouest, representative of the Chouest group, “The addition of ROVOP is fundamental to our plans to expand and improve integrated subsea services. “We are delighted to join their team, whose expertise will be essential to diversify our offering and continue leading in the sector.”

Advantages of joining Chouest for the future of the subsea sector

Neil Potter, CEO of ROVOP, also expressed his optimism, noting that the merger with Chouest represents an excellent opportunity to enhance ROVOP’s capabilities and extend its impact in the market, benefiting both current and future customers.

Chouest’s acquisition of ROVOP underscores a growing trend in the marine industry to consolidate technical and operational capabilities through mergers and acquisitions. This strategy not only optimizes resources, but also accelerates innovation and improves competitiveness in a sector increasingly dominated by advanced technology.
