RBW Enterprises, Inc., a family-run business specializing in advanced surface preparation technology, introduced their latest innovations in centrifugal blasting machines at this year’s AMPP conference. John Vogel, Director of Business Development, shared the company’s journey and its revolutionary robotic blasting solutions designed for efficient and versatile surface cleaning.

A Leap in Centrifugal Blasting

Developed by Bob Watkin, the company’s founder, RBW’s centrifugal blast machines are at the forefront of surface preparation technology. These robotic units, controlled via handheld remotes, come in two models catering to different operational needs. The larger model covers a 32-inch blast pattern, while the smaller version targets tighter spaces with a 16-inch pattern, offering flexibility without compromising on power.

Centrifugal blasting, as Vogel explains, employs dual 30-horsepower motors that drive a blast wheel at 3,600 RPMs. This mechanism projects steel shot or grit against surfaces, effectively removing rust, paint, and other coatings. The process is environmentally friendly, with a vacuum system that recycles the blast material and collects waste, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

RBW Enterprises doesn’t just sell these pioneering machines; they also provide comprehensive training and demonstrations, primarily conducted at their facility. This commitment extends to after-sales service, offering parts, materials, and accessories essential for the machines’ operation.
