From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conferenceRichard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Bryan Miller, Account Manager and Kevin Miroewski, a specialized technician with SNT-TC-IA certification in Level II liquid penetrant testing, both representing MET-L-CHEK, an NDT division of the MCGEAN COMPANY, with roots firmly planted in Cleveland, Ohio and manufacturing operations extended to Livonia, Michigan.

NDT Testing Innovation

The company was on hand at ASNT to showcase a range of chemical products dedicated to various NDT tests, including fluorescent and visible penetrants and magnetic particles.

The Power of Capillary Action

The exhibit that stole the show was a cracked crystal ball. “This is a demonstration of the power of capillary action and our fluorescent penetrant,” Kevin explained. A simple drop of this penetrant highlighted all the cracks in the ball, illustrating the effectiveness of the product, especially in detecting fine imperfections.

Versatile Applications

When asked about practical applications for his products, Bryan pointed to a wide range of industries. “From oil and gas to welding to aerospace, our products are used in numerous fields” he shared.

Although based in the U.S., MET-L-CHEK has a global presence with manufacturing in the U.K. and operations extended as far as Singapore through the MCGEAN COMPANY.
