WSI and Ruhrpumpen Showcase Innovative Welding and Coke Cutting Technologies at Becht Coker Workshop

Companies Welding Services Incorporated (WSI) and Ruhrpumpen presented their latest technologies at the Becht Coker Workshop, held in Sugar Land, TX, as part of BECHT’s 60th anniversary. WSI showcased its ng4 machine for weld repair, its BPV Hotwire TIG power source, and the 9 forehead model for welding in coke drums. Ruhrpumpen, on the other hand, showcased its delayed coke cutting tools, including an automatic changeover tool and a new drill string with crane industry technology.

Becht and Eddyfi Technologies partner to improve safety of coke drums

As part of the Becht Coker Workshop in Sugar Land, TX, within BECHT’s 60th anniversary framework, Mark Carte of Becht Engineering and Bruce Stetler of Eddyfi Technologies presented an innovative technology for the inspection of coke drums. Spyne Technology, with its 128-channel Eddy Current Array (ECA) coil array, can detect cracks and other defects inside the drum, even in the base material. This technology offers fast and efficient inspection, crucial to the safety of coking operations. Carte and Stetler stressed the importance of collaboration between companies to develop technological solutions that benefit the oil industry.
