Qatar’s Minister of Energy and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, assured during the opening of the LNG2026 conference that the liquefied natural gas is a centerpiece of the world’s energy future, especially in the face of accelerating growth in consumption driven by artificial intelligence and data centers.

LNG production in the face of AI pressure and growth

According to Al-Kaabi, the expansion of artificial intelligence artificial intelligence and population growth are transforming global energy demand. These technologies, along with economic development in regions such as Asia and the Middle East, are demanding a more robust, secure and sustainable energy supply.

The world cannot live without energy. We cannot slow the growth of those who still do not have basic access to electricity.

He stated.

QatarEnergy leads with environmental responsibility

During the roundtable, shared with leaders from Shell, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips, the minister highlighted that QatarEnergy is developing LNG projects with the lowest possible carbon footprint. The state-owned company is implementing carbon sequestration and energy efficiency technologies in its operations, reaffirming its commitment to responsible production.

Emotionally charged political decisions do not solve energy challenges. A technical and realistic approach is needed.

Al-Kaabi commented, stressing that many clean solutions exist, but there is not always the will to fund them adequately.

Balanced and diversified energy supply

QatarEnergy maintains its long-term vision, investing in exploration and development of energy blocks in different regions of the world. Al-Kaabi stressed that both gas and oil will remain vital components of the global energy mix for decades to come. The aim is to ensure a balanced, affordable and sustainable energy supply, without sacrificing the reliability offered by fossil fuels.

Where there are exploration blocks, that is where we will be working, said the minister, who also warned of possible supply gaps by 2030 if demand continues to increase at the current rate.

LNG production and strategic alliances

The meeting in Doha consolidated QatarEnergy’s role as a strategic partner of large multinationals in the production of LNG. LNG production. This collaboration seeks to ensure access to energy for future generations, integrating innovation, sustainability and security of supply as pillars of its international strategy.

At the close of the session, Al-Kaabi thanked the executives present for their collaboration, highlighting that these partnerships have been instrumental in positioning Qatar as a major player in the global LNG market.
