During the opening of the AMPP LatinCORR + Pan American Conference on CorrosionJuan Caballero, current Board Chair of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), welcomed participants from all over the Americas and Europe to the Hilton Panama Hotel.
During his speech, Caballero pointed out that this edition marks a precedent: it is the first time that LatinCORR is held in Panama, after years of touring South America. This event is in addition to the Panamerican Corrosion Conference with the aim of consolidating Central America and the Caribbean among the highest global standards in the corrosion protection industry.

The event seeks to raise the level of standardization, education and awareness around corrosiona problem that severely affects multiple industrial sectors. Caballero emphasized that the event represents an effort to unite professionals from all over the Americas around cathodic cathodic protectionand state-of-the-art anti-corrosion coatings and technologies.
In addition, Caballero highlighted an unprecedented achievement: he is the first Latin American to hold the position of global president of AMPP in its 83-year history, which reaffirms the region’s growing relevance in the global industry.
The event’s program includes presentations, expert panels, courses and specialized workshops, consolidating itself as a key networking and technical update space for professionals, engineers, manufacturers and suppliers of the sector.
