Strategic alliance of Norvento Enerxía and Enzen will supply renewable energy to Guyana, Suriname and Grenada

Enzen, a company specialized in consulting and technology services for companies, and the energy company Norvento Enerxía have entered into a strategic alliance to supply renewable energy to the Caribbean countries of Guyana, Suriname and Grenada.

These projects will be executed under the “turnkey” or EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) modality, which includes engineering, procurement and commissioning of photovoltaic installations.

The projects will be led by Enzen Spain and the work will be complemented by Norvento Enerxía’s battery storage systems, the companies said in a joint statement.

Specifically, these are three nBESS containerized storage systems, with installed capacities of 1,330 kilowatt hours (kWh), 575 kWh and 768 kWh of lithium-ion batteries, and 400 kilovolt-amperes (kVA) of nGM converters each, in addition to the company’s control systems for the hybrid photovoltaic generation plants.

The two companies are tackling the three projects in parallel, on the island of Guaquenám in Guyana, on the island of Carriacou (Grenada) and in Parmaribo (Suriname).

The project in Guyana will enable the island of Guaquenám, which covers an area of approximately 44 square kilometers and is geographically located at the mouth of a river that makes access to the national electricity grid difficult, to meet its energy demands thanks to the implementation of a hybrid generation plant with three of the products designed and manufactured by Norvento Enerxía.

In addition, the Carriacou Island (Grenada) project will be launched, which consists of providing the island with a renewable energy pathway, making it the largest source of green energy on the island, in order to improve its energy network.

On the other hand, a photovoltaic deployment will be made at AdeKUS University (Anton de Kom University) in Paramaribo (Suriname) in order to generate energy savings and boost the sustainability of the educational institution, thanks to a new solar park. This project will also serve as an on-campus technology demonstrator for students and academics.
